We know that God of War releases sometime in 2018. Painstakingly for us and fans of the series though, we don’t know exactly when that will be.
The work of Cory Barlog and Santa Monica Studio’s is already destined to be a game of the year contender when it eventually arrives, but according to Chris Ashimine, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s localisation expert for Japan and Aisa, the wait for a concrete date could be revealed soon.
Speaking recently with Japanese publication Famitsu via Dualshockers, Ashimine, who is working on the Japanese localisation for God of War mentioned that he believes the team will soon be able to announce a release date; which is certainly encouraging for those waiting for confirmation.
First announced 18 months ago at E3 2016, God of War is something of a reboot for the long-running series, taking protagonist Kratos away from the norm of fighting Greek gods to explore a mysterious land dominated by Norse monsters along with his son Arteus.
Back in December, the North American PlayStation Store accidentally listed God of War to release on March 22nd, but we’ve still yet to receive confirmation of a concrete date from either Sony or Santa Monica Studio’s for the hotly anticipated PS4 exclusive.
