Xbox One users will soon be able to chat with friends in parties using their mobile phones.
Microsoft is testing the new feature out, which is currently available to players who download the Xbox App. As of now, the feature is still in beta but essentially works as a way to continue chatting with friends when the player is away from their console. It would likely also be a rather handy addition to those playing cross-platform titles such as Xbox One/Windows 10 games like Mojang’s Minecraft.
Reddit users picked up on the feature after noticing a change in the apps patch notes and have commented on the thread to confirm its validity. Microsoft has yet to make an announcement regarding the app’s capabilities, but we’d expect one closer to the apps full launch.
Xbox App is currently available for free to install on iOS and Android, although the beta only appears to work on Android at this time.
